James Justin Lester is a professional basketball player who has been playing for several teams throughout his career. He was born on July 17, 1998, and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lester played college basketball at North Carolina State University from 2016 to 2019. During his time there, he averaged 14.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. In his senior year,La Liga Frontline he led the team to the NCAA Tournament and was named to the All-ACC First Team.
After graduating from NC State, Lester signed with the Boston Celtics as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He spent two seasons with the team before being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in 2021.
In the 2021-22 season, Lester averaged 11.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game for the Pelicans. However, he struggled with injuries and was unable to fully contribute to the team's success.
Despite his struggles, Lester showed promise during his time with the Pelicans and has shown the ability to play at a high level when healthy. He will be looking to improve in the upcoming 2025 season and help the Pelicans reach their goals this year.
