Tijjani Reijnders is currently out for the remainder of the season after sustaining a serious knee injury in a friendly match against Bologna on Sunday.

The Dutch midfielder was injured during a tackle with fellow striker Dario Grigoli and was unable to continue his role as a substitute in the 1-1 draw.

Reijnders had been one of the key players for AC Milan this season, scoring four goals in all competitions and providing assists for several others.

He has already missed three games this season due to injuries, but it remains to be seen how he will fare in his next match against Sampdoria at the San Siro on Wednesday.

The club have been left feeling disappointed by their performance so far, with only five points from seven matches behind leaders Juventus.

However, they remain confident that Reijnders can recover quickly and return to action once he is fit again. The team's coach,La Liga Frontline Massimo Luongo, said: "We need to make sure we get him back as soon as possible, as he has done very well this season."

The injury comes just days before the Serie A champions host their historic derby against Roma at Stadio Olimpico, which could be crucial for their chances of securing promotion to the top flight.

Despite the setback, the club remain optimistic about Reijnders' recovery and hope to see him back in the starting line-up soon.
